La historic Route 66 ormai non fa più parte da tempo del sistema delle highway, ma non ha certo perso quel suo fascino straordinario, che negli anni ispirò Steinback o Kerouac. I grandi spazi che si attraversano e le atmosfere attonite in cui ci si immerge raccontano di un’America diversa da quella delle grandi città o da quella celebrata delle grandi bellezze naturali, una sorta di sogno mai avverato nutrito dalla rinuncia a raggiungere l’estremo Ovest di chi si è fermato e ha deciso di creare lungo questo percorso microcosmi ormai dimenticati, dando origine a vite ordinarie, che pur continuano a perpetuarsi in queste contrade remote.

The historic Route 66 has not been part of the highway system for some time now, but it has certainly not lost that extraordinary charm, which over the years inspired Steinback or Kerouac. Large spaces that you cross and astonished atmospheres where you dive tell a different America from the big cities or the celebrated great natural beauty, a kind of dream never came true nourished by the waiver of reaching the Far West by those who stopped themselves and decided to create forgotten microcosms along this path, giving rise to ordinary lives, which nevertheless continue to perpetuate themselves in these remote districts
